Early Morning Server Outage for 3 Minutes

A spambot service from Spain was hammering the AthensGuy.com web server early this morning. It caused a 3 minute outage of all customer websites at 7:00 am.
The spambot came in through a google search to one of our customer websites. It started requesting pages from the server at 5:30 am but accelerated around 6:30 am. The server response began to slow although all websites were still being served within 30 seconds. At 7:00 am we stopped and restarted the web services. We blocked the offending Spanish IP and network. As of 7:05 our monitors confirmed all services were responding as normal.
